Thanks to the generosity of TruSens, schools in need now have air purifiers, improving the air quality for students and staff.
Students, teachers, and staff in the Spring Valley, New York School System now have access to cleaner indoor air, thanks to a generous donation from TruSens.
During the height of the pandemic, the TruSens team saw an opportunity to serve and help communities directly affected by the crisis. They knew that the average person inhales 3,000 gallons of air every day, and most people spend most of their time indoors, with other people, breathing air that is often up to five times more polluted than outdoor air.
“Now, more than ever before, indoor air quality is vitally important to everyone,” said Adam Smith, ACCO Brands’ Vice President of Global Development & Innovation. “Not just at home, but at work, school, or wherever we spend our time. Paying attention to clean air quality needs to be an integral part of a return to shared spaces.”
To help improve the Air Quality Index (AQI) in schools, TruSens partnered with Good 360, a global leader in product philanthropy and purposeful giving. Good 360 partners with socially responsible companies to source highly needed goods and distribute them through their network of diverse nonprofits that they support.
TruSens utilized this network to donate over 100 air purifiers outfitted with HEPA filtration which helps capture airborne viruses in classrooms. Anshei Lubavitch, in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, is one of the receiving schools. The school now has an air purifier in every classroom, improving the air quality for all its students and staff.
Every TruSens Air Purifier arrived ready-to-go out of the box. Once plugged into an outlet, its SensorPod read the space’s AQI and began responding with peak efficiency.
With most, if not all, schools back in session this fall, classroom air quality will continue to be a concern for parents and school officials. The CDC recommends using portable HEPA filtration systems and ultraviolet germicidal irradiation to help enhance air cleaning. TruSens air purification products deliver on both.
