General SensorPod & Humidity Level Filter & UV Light Cleaning & Water Tank All Other
The N-300 has a larger water tank (N-300: 2.1-gallon capacity; N-200: 1.3-gallon capacity), only the N-300 has a UV-C light, warm mist setting, and soft touch display buttons.
TruSens ultrasonic Humidifier uses a magnet to vibrate a ceramic plate at frequencies higher than the range of human hearing. This very fast vibration causes water droplets so small that they are able to stay suspended in the air. This is the mist that is seen exiting the chimney.
The N-200 has a max noise power level of 37.0 - 39.3 dB and the N-300 has a max noise power level of 37.4 - 41.0dB.
TruSens Humidifiers have a 3-year warranty.
The TruSens humidifiers only monitor the relative humidity within the room. They do not display the air quality like the air purifiers.
Check that the power cord is connected securely to both the wall outlet and the humidifier. Check if there is a power outage in the outlet by trying a nearby light or device, or by trying a working device in the same outlet.
Check that there is water in the tank, consider filling the tank to the "Max" indicator line.
Please contact us if you're still having a problem.
First, check that the SensorPod is within range of the humidifier (up to 33ft/10m).
Next, check the SensorPod batteries and consider replacing with new batteries.
If the connection is still failing, see the online Owner's Manual for instructions on repairing the SensorPod's connection.
A red light in the water tank means that the humidifier needs to refilled. Remove the water tank lid and use a pitcher to fill with clean, cool water. Do NOT pour water directly into the mist outlet or the base/reservoir.
The speed settings of the humidifier relate to the volume of mist for each setting, i.e. Speed 1 is 100 mL/hr, Speed 2 is 200mL/hr, and Speed 3 is 300 mL/hr.
The separate SensorPod is both a remote humidity monitor and control. The remote-control feature allows users to control the humidifier’s power (on/off), misting speed, and dimmer (on/off). Placed up to 33 feet (10m) away from the humidifier, SensorPod detects moisture levels in the air and sends real-time readings for the humidifier to automatically adjust.
SensorPod can be used up to 33 ft. (10m) away from the Humidifier.
If the communication between the SensorPod™ and the humidifier is interrupted, you will notice that the radio signal on the humidifier blinks and the humidity display will show two dashes ("- -").
If the humidifier shows a flashing antenna symbol or is displaying "- -" on startup, please allow up to 60 seconds for the SensorPod to connect. If you notice this after 60 seconds after startup or during operation, first check that the SensorPod is within range of the humidifier and check the batteries. In the rare event that the SensorPod needs to be re-paired to the humidifier. Refer to the manual for re-pairing instructions. Press and hold the power button on the humidifier for 3 seconds, once the humidifier beeps, press and hold the power button on the SensorPod for 3 seconds until the humidifier beeps again indicating that the SensorPod is connected.
Please contact our customer support team and you can order a replacement SensorPod. Follow the easy pairing instructions located in the online Owner's Manual to pair your replacement SensorPod with your existing humidifier.

Yes, TruSens Humidifiers allow users to press the – or + button to set their own target humidity between 40 - 60%. The humidity level will be displayed as a percentage on panel.
Reaching optimal humidity in a space is very dependent on the initial humidity and temperature, size, and shape of the room as well as the amount, location, and absorption of any walls, obstructions, and furniture. The speed settings of the humidifier relate to the volume of mist for each setting, i.e. Speed 1 is 100 ml/hr, Speed 2 is 200 ml/hr, and Speed 3 is 300 ml/hr.
Anywhere you want to measure the humidity within the room. For optimal results, place the SensorPod up to 33ft (10m) away from the humidifier on a counter or table, within line of sight of the humidifier. In Auto Mode, the humidifier will work to distribute humidity until the SensorPod reads an acceptable level.
The optimal relative humidity is 40% to 60%. TruSens Humidifiers allow users to press the – or + button to set their own target humidity between 40 - 60%. The humidity level will be displayed as a percentage on panel.
Both the N-200 and N-300 can be used without the SensorPod, but will only operate in Manual Mode and not display a humidity reading if the SensorPod is not connected. If you'd like to run the humidifier in Auto Mode, you will need to use the SensorPod.
TruSens Humidifiers feature a replacement indicator that will notify you when it is time to replace the water softening filter. Plan on replacing the water filter every 3 to 4 months, with normal use of 8 hours per day and average water hardness.
Please note that if you are storing the humidifier in the off season, we recommend replacing the filter each new winter/dry sesason.
The water softening filter minimizes mineral build up and white dust to deliver a cleaner mist. This helps to prolong the life of the humidifier. The filter should last an average of 4 months to provide a full season of humidified air.
In order to change the filter in your TruSens Humidifier, unplug the machine and empty the tank. Next, the old filter will need to be removed for the replacement filter to be added. For optimal performance, remember to soak the new filter in a bowl of water for 1 hour before installing. Also, remember to tightly secure the gray cap with filter onto the water tank until the cap's indicator meets the lock symbol on the tank. Once the new filter is secured in the humidifier, hold the Filter Reset Button until the red indicator turns off. For full, detailed instruction please refer to the proper owner's manual for your unit here: https://www.trusens.com/support/humidifier-support/
After replacing the filter on your humidifier, simply hold the Filter Reset Button until the red indicator turns off.
The UV-C light does not require replacement during the life of the product.
The UV-C light helps kill bacteria in the mist. This feature is only available for the N-300 Humidifier model.
Not all TruSens Humidifiers come with a UV-C light. Only the N-300 uses a UV-C light and yes, this does come included.
Please refer to the proper owner's manual for your Humidifier to see full, detailed instructions on weekly maintenance: https://www.trusens.com/support/humidifier-support/
TruSens Humidifiers should be cleaned and descaled every week. Please refer to the maintenance and cleaning section in the owner's manual to learn more.
TruSens Humidifiers should not develop mold if properly used and cleaned. If water is left standing the humidifier for an extended amount of time, mold may begin to develop.
White dust in the mist is a result of misting hard water. Our water softening filter featured in all TruSens Humidifiers reduces the hardness of water being used which will reduce the amount of white dust in the mist.
Remove the water tank and check the filter cap. Is the cap cross threaded (see image below)? This is likely the cause. Remove the cap and re-install correctly.
Yes, a timer can be set using the control panel on the humidifier or the remote-control feature on the SensorPod. Timers are available for cycles of 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours. After the set time is reached, the unit will automatically turn off.
Both humidifiers offer a cool mist feature to keep your air hydrated benefitting skin, nasal passages, throat, and lips. The N-300 additionally offers a comforting warm mist setting.
The cool mist features a room temperature mist, which is cool to the touch. The warm mist (only available on the N-300) has a max temperature of 82°F (28°C) at the mist outlet.
The water tank size varies by model - the N-200 holds 1.3 gallons (5L) and the N-300 holds 2.1 gallons (8L).
The operational hours of TruSens Humidifiers depend on the unit and its settings. The N-200 Humidifier lasts 50 hrs. on Speed 1, 25 hours on Speed 2, and 16.6 hours on Speed 3. The N-300 Humidifier lasts 80 hrs. on Speed 1, 40 hours on Speed 2, and 26.6 hours on Speed 3.
The recommended room size for TruSens Humidifier models N-200 and N-300 is 485 sq. ft.. The difference between the two Humidifier sizes is in the capacity of the water tank.
TruSens Humidifiers feature a top-fill water tank. This means that water can be added without the need for removing the tank from the base of the humidifier, it can be filled by pouring water using a water pitcher.
All TruSens Humidifiers feature a top fill water tank.
No, when the water level is low, the unit will shut off and the tank indicator will turn red.
Yes, both models come with an aromatherapy pad installed on the unit. Replacement aromatherapy pads are sold separately.
The aromatherapy tray is featured in both N-200 and N-300 and allows the user to add essential oils to the pad which is diffused into the room through the mist.
No, using the aromatherapy is optional and will not affect the performance or function of the humidifier.
Essential or scented oil should NOT be added directly to the water in the water tank. This may damage the unit. Essential or scented oils can be added to the aromatherapy tray on the back of the unit to help diffuse the scent around the room during operation. Note: only use 100% natural essential oils.
We recommend replacing the aromatherapy pad when changing scents or as needed.
